Thirteen-year-old Culver City Middle School
8th Grader Nicholas Iverson is Baseball Central's
Allstar for the month of December. The teen has
been working out at Baseball Central since he was
six years old -- initially with T.J Runnells, and more
recently developing his pitching and hitting with
Shawn Chacon.

Each year he has excelled in the sport and has always played 'up' (with the older kids). Primarily a middle infielder and pitcher, Iverson has played Santa Monica Pony League baseball and has been chosen for the post-season All-Star team for the past three consecutive years.

Iverson, who first hit the diamond at age four in Culver City Little League, has now also played two seasons with BC Attack! (14u and now 13u) under coaches TJ and Shawn. In addition to his impressive defensive skills, this season his hitting and leadership skills have taken off. This past summer Nicholas played in Cooperstown, New York, where he hit three home runs and showcased his skills as a solid middle infielder.

"I won't ever forget my Cooperstown experience," Iverson says of his amazing week there.

While Nicholas' first love is baseball, he also enjoys playing basketball and golf. His other hobbies include visiting major-league baseball fields around the country and collecting team baseballs. When Nicholas is relaxing, he likes to play sports video games and listen to music.

Iverson also performs well in the classroom, receiving the "Principal's Honor Roll" award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in 2013 and the "President's Award for Educational Excellence" in 2012. Additionally, he has received the "Scholarship League" award every quarter for the past two years. His favorite subjects are Social Studies, Math and PE.

When time permits, Nicholas is involved with events held at his church. His favorite community service activity is volunteering with "The Giving Spirit" organization making backpacks / survival kits for the homeless.
